  1. Dato' Abdul Razak was born in Singapore in 1869 and was educated at Raffles. He moved to Sabak Bernam, Selangor where he became a "Mata-Mata Laut" (Marine Police). The then Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sir Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah by the word-of-mouth took a liking to him and commanded him to Klang, the royal seat, as His Highness's Private Secretary in 1907 at the age of 39.

Dato' Abdul Razak eventually became the Dato' Setia Selangor. On his death bed, the Sultan came, though suffering from Pneumonia, tried to get up to greet the Sultan and said, "Tuanku, patik nak ambil cuti panjang" (as told by my grandmother Hajah Arpah Dato' Abdul Razak). His Highness made a remark, " Setia sampai sudah" (loyal to the very end). He passed away in 1938 at the age of 69.

Since the Sultan passed away on 31 March 1938 and was present at Dato' Abdul Razak's death bed, which means that Dato' Abdul Razak passed away between 1 January 1938 and 30 March 1938.
